ABOUT YOUR FAMILY PHOTO SESSION

Outdoors

My approach to your session will always be to keep things as natural as possible. To make sure it’s as fun as possible. Don’t be afraid to be silly, get tickled, run or sit on the wet grass! It’ll be 100% worth it. Children rarely do what we want them to do! So we need to ensure they don’t feel pressured at any point to ‘perform’. I want to capture them exactly as they are. Cheeky, even a bit naughty!

I know some wonderful areas around Hampshire, tried and tested locations, where we can get straight to the pretty and the light and start creating your treasured images. I will use my experience to guide you into natural positions and capture the real connections between you as a family.

At Home

I like to use the term ‘Lifestyle’ to explain my photography style. It’s quite a popular term used to describe the type of family photography that isn’t posed or formed. Or at least, it doesn’t look like it is!

My newborn sessions won’t involve any props or poses. Just natural pictures of your baby sleeping, crying and being held and loved. And maybe accidentally poked in the eye by a sibling. Hey it happens!

Home sessions usually start in the bedroom where you can all congregate on the big bed. Think, jumping on the bed (them not you, sorry!), cuddling, perhaps reading a few books as they ease into the session. Some children are more relaxed in their own home. It’s very familiar to them and there is something very special about documenting your every day and preserving it for a lifetime. I’ll have a look around your home and see which light spots will work for the session and we can move about to create a varied gallery that you’ll love.

And don’t worry, once you’re all booked in I’ll send a full style & preparation guide to help you plan for your session because I know thinking about what to wear can be a daunting task!
