A spring micro wedding in romsey, hampshire

As a photographer, over the last 12 years, I’ve had the privilege of documenting every kind of wedding. But there’s something uniquely special about a micro wedding.

Recently, I had the honour of capturing a stunning micro wedding that embodied simplicity, style, and, above all, authenticity.

Katy & Jon lived a very short walk from their ceremony venue which made everything even more personal and had only their parents and grandparents in attendance. After the ceremony the couple walked back to their house for a slice of cake and a glass of champagne with their guests. Later that day, a bigger celebration at The Newt in Somerset would bring their celebrations to a close.

This wedding wasn’t about excess. It was about intentionality. Katy’s minimalist satin dress was a perfect fit for this wedding and Jon’s classic black tie suit stood with a quiet confidence that matched the atmosphere of the day.

When I think of editorial style, I think of timeless beauty. Images that feel like they belong in the pages of a high end magazine but still resonate deeply on a personal level. This couple embraced that aesthetic wholeheartedly.

Micro weddings have this incredible way of stripping away distractions and this wedding was beautiful reminder that less really can be more. It wasn’t about creating a spectacle; it was about crafting a meaningful experience and celebrating love.

For any couple considering a smaller celebration, my advice is simple: embrace what feels authentic to you. Focus on the details that matter, let your personality shine through, and trust that your love story will be enough to make it unforgettable.
