Your Wedding Photography booking and Covid-19

Well never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be writing a blog post of this nature in 2020. To all my couples who have had to postpone your wedding, I’m so sorry. I know how much time and planning goes into creating the perfect day and I’m sorry it looks like you will now have to wait much longer for this day to come to fruition.

Before I continue please read this post.

On 17th March I sent an email to all of my couples up until the end of June. It feels like so much has changed since then. I explained the procedure for postponing. And I had the very real hope that postponing for a few months would be all that would be required.

With all of the uncertainly at the moment I now realise that for a lot of you, a 2020 wedding is unlikely to happen.

I truly want to assist all my couples as much as I can through this time. It’s stressful for everyone involved.

I really really want to keep all of your lovely people in my diary for 2020/2021. I don't want to loose you! I do need you to work with me in order for this to happen. When you are in discussion with your venue about possible postponement dates, please reach out to me at this stage. That way we stand a good chance of finding a date that works for all of us.

In order to do all I can to help and to be as transparent as possible, my postponement procedure from Sunday 5th April shall now be as follows:

  • first of all, please check my availability calendar on my site here **edit - I have now removed this as it was too difficult to maintain on a daily basis.

  • if you are rescheduling to any week day in 2021 there is no charge to amend the contracted date

  • if you wish to have a Saturday in January through to and including April and September through to and including December, there is no charge to amend the contracted date

  • if you wish for a Saturday from May through to and including August, there may be a £250 booking fee to secure the new date. I am assessing this situation as time goes on. Your balance will continue to be due one month before your wedding

  • if you wish to proceed with a date that I am unavailable then you have two options. a) to have me arrange an experienced associate photographer to shoot your day and hand all files over to me to edit and continue my relationship with you. b) cancel your contract. The desposit is non refundable

I really hope this helps and please know that I am here if you need any help, of any kind, at all! I have tried to devise the fairest solution for all involved and I hope you agree that I have managed this well. We are all in this together and we need to keep our dreams and our businesses alive. Stay home, stay safe. Much love.
